This is one of the most common types of filter bags, Eaton has manufactured SNAP-RING™ filter bags for over 30 years. A solid ring of plastic or metal is sewn into the filter bag opening. When inserted into the filter housing's restrainer basket, the ring "snaps" into the corresponding groove in the restrainer basket. SNAP-RING™ filter bags are manufactured of polypropylene, polyester, nylon, Teflon and Nomex materials having nominal retentions of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 600, and 800 μm. SNAP-RING™ filter bags are made of relatively thin material and therefore provide mostly surface retention of particles. SNAP-RING™ filter bags are best suited for applications that have a low concentration of particles.
This filter bag is an upgraded version of SNAP-RING™ filter bag. Instead of using a solid ring sewn into the filter bag for sealing, the UNIBAG™ has a molded SENTINEL™ RING. The SENTINAL™ RING improves sealing between the filter bag and restrainer (support) basket when downwards pressure is applied to the filter bag via the filter housing lid or hold-down ring. The UNIBAG™ has an all welded construction, making it a little stronger than sewn SNAP-RING™ filter bags. UNIBAG™ filter bags are manufactured of polypropylene and polyester materials having nominal retentions of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100 and 200μm. UNIBAG™ filter bags are made of relatively thin materials and therefore provide mostly surface retention of particles. UNIBAG™ filter bags are best suited for applications that have a low concentration of particles.
Sentinel™ Filter Bags represent the majority of Eaton's filter bag product offering. SENTINEL™ filter bags are made from thicker materials than the economy SNAP-RING™ and UNIBAG™ filter bags, thereby providing some depth filtration. This increase in media corresponds to higher particle retention capability - which equates to fewer filter bag changes (a savings in materials, labor and disposal costs). SENTINEL™ filter bags have a fully welded construction for maximum strength and performance. The integrally molded handles remain above the fluid level and make changing the filter bag easier. SENTINEL™ filter bags are manufactured of polypropylene (including an FDA grade), polyester and nylon monofilament materials having nominal retentions of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 80, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400, 600 and 800μm. SENTINEL™ filter bags are suitable for all nominal retention filter bag applications.
Hayflow™ filter bags have a special design to increase their surface area, they are extra-long and with a special support basket this additional length is positioned in the center of the filter bag. This enables industry standard #2 size bag filter housings to be converted to Hayflow™ style filter bags by changing the support basket to the Hayflow™ style support basket. Hayflow™ filter bags increase the total surface area by 70% and therefore also enable slightly higher flow rates than otherwise recommended for #2 size housings using "standard" #2 style filter bags. Hayflow™ filter bags are available in polypropylene and polyester with nominal micron ratings of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100. Hayflow™ filter bags are suitable for all nominal retention filter bag applications.
DURAGAF™ filter bags are a premium efficient, high performance filter bag having 200-500% more holding capacity than SNAP-RING™, UNIBAG™ and SENTINEL™ filter bags. DURAGAF™ filter bags are made with a fully welded construction and have the SENTINEL™ RING seal to eliminate particle bypass. The additional performance provided by DURAGAF™ filter bags costs about 80% more than Sentinel™ Filter Bags, however, they will last at least twice as long. This equates to cutting your existing labor hours spent changing filter bags and disposal costs by at least 50%. Depending upon your particle loading, the savings could be huge. MAX-LOAD™ filter bags are configured to maximize the filtration surface area within a industry standard #2 size bag filter vessel. MAX-LOAD™ accomplishes this with a pleated design, which increases the surface area 10 times of a standard filter bag. MAX-LOAD™ pleated filter bags are available in polypropylene and polyester materials with nominal micron ratings of 1, 5, 10, 25 and 30. LOFCLEAR™ filter bags are a 99% efficiency filter bags made from 100% pure polypropylene materials ensure compliance with food processing industry requirements. These premium filter bags have a fully welded construction and SENTINEL™ RING seal and used for applications requiring "absolute" or 99% retention efficiency. Because LOFCLEAR™ filter bags are made form polypropylene made from a multilayer design to obtain 99% efficiency, they also are excellent for oil absorption; removing trace oil from paints and other engineered coatings. There are two variations offered, series 100 and series 500. The series 100 is a multilayer design specifically for high purity fluids and high efficiency particle retention. Series 500 LOFCLEAR™ filter bags have a pleated design for extending their particle loading capacity and therefore used for slurries, dilute oil removal, re-circulating batch systems, and systems with heavy contamination. The available retentions are 2.6, 4, 5, 6, 10, 13, 15 and 32μm.
ACCUGAF™ filter bags are the highest quality and performance filter bag offered by Eaton. ACCUGAF™ filter bags have 99% efficiency and have a fully welded construction with SENTINEL™ RING seal. ACCUGAF Filter Bags are constructed entirely of materials compliant to FDA requirements for materials in contact with food. All materials conform to US Code of Federal Regulation 21 CFR Part 177 and EC Directive 90/128/EEC. Typical applications include: beer/wine/spirits/beverage filtration, fine particle removal in parts cleaning, final filtration of lacquers, final filtration of vinegar, activated carbon removal in process systems and final filtration of hydraulic oils and lubricants. The available retentions are 5, 15, 25, and 35μm.
PROGAF™ filter bags are an ultra-high performance alternative for applications requiring absolute filtration.
